The Building

Renovated in 2011, the Kenton Masonic Temple stands as one of the few remaining Portland Masonic buildings that is still for Masonic use. It serves as an anchor point for the Kenton neighborhood and is home to various shops such as Kenton Cycle Repair, Comic Cave PDX and Bart's Barbershop.

The temple is also home to other Masonic organizations such as Friendship Masonic Lodge No. 160 and Enlightenment Lodge No. 228.

  • Freemasonry is ‘veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols’ because these are the surest way by which moral and ethical truths may be taught. It is not only with the brain and with the mind that the initiate must take Freemasonry but also with the heart.- Carl Claudy
