WELCOME

The Freemasons of San Juan Lodge are members of a Fraternal Organization dedicated to making good men better and thereby making the community better. We are located on San Juan Island in Friday Harbor, Washington.

There are several Masonic lodges found in the area. The oldest chartered lodge is Franklin #5 in Port Gamble WA, followed by Port Townsend Lodge #6 both charted in 1859. Victoria-Columbia #1 in Victoria BC was charted shortly thereafter in 1860. As of 1910, approximately 60 lodges were situated in the Puget Sound region.

Our Lodge was the first Masonic lodge in San Juan County. Founded by E. H. Nash, our Lodge was the one hundred and seventy fifth Lodge chartered in 1909 by the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Washington, dedicated to Faith, Hope, and Charity.

There are now many Masonic lodges in the Puget Sound and Lower BC area.

Question: Who are the Masons and what makes them special?

Answer: Do you as a person think that being honest and forthright is better than being less that truthful? If so, there is a group of men who so firmly believe that this is true, that they live by this virtue, and they are called Masons. Do you believe that a man should be patient, tolerant, civil and strive to make the world a better place, one man at a time? Again, it is the Masons who daily live by a moral code based on Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. If you believe these things and want to associate with like-minded men, you should check out Freemasonry.
